This is music for late nights and comedown mornings; it’s for red wine and close times. There’s so many ideas pushed into this record that by all logic it shouldn’t work. However, it does, and spectacularly so.

In a nutshell, if you want a beer-drinking soundtrack and don’t have access to your ‘70s rock collection, this’ll do just fine. If you want something new, or original, go back to where it all came from.

Punk goes pop.

By the time they encore with a Justin Bieber cover, it’s hard to imagine the Brisbane musician doing anything else.

The guys had the whole crowd going and by the time it came to a close there were a few members at the front of the pit looking particularly exhausted. Consider that a job well done.

It brings down an evening that unusually saw the band move in more abstract and textural directions, but at the very core of their sound the metal-inspired noise they make still produces a satisfying sensory overload.

After the addictive surf-rock we’d just experienced from Go Violets, a lady taking her clothes off just seems weird.

Horrorshow are well and truly back and, quite simply, this is great news.
