Of course there’s no real proof - much as there’s no substantial evidence that Wire haven’t been replaced by a covers band. Or does Change Becomes Us offer some subtle clues? Hmm...

Few bands master either power or refinement, let alone both, and tonight shows exactly why You Am I will go down in history as one of Australia’s finest ever guitar groups.

Whilst Mono’s recorded output may be in danger of falling into derivative crescendo-core post-rock cliché, live they are as powerful as ever and a true testament to the potential power and majesty of instrumental rock.

This pair have a little while to go before they settle on the right balance of frivolity and conviction, but if this album is anything to go by they’re already halfway there.

Thankfully ending on a pearler, Exit The Wasteland is a reminder that when this band is on point, they kick dick.
