While the leads were brilliant in this performance, the ensemble cast was just as good; in the moments when the stage was covered with a flock of ballerinas in white dresses, just the sight and sound of them moving – much of the time in unison – across the stage was utterly impressive.

The ecstatic crowd demand an encore so Chvrches conclude the evening with a cover of Prince’s I Would Die For You.

Dense in thematics, Upstream Color is worth watching to be a part of its discussion, moreso than merely in and of itself.

Nonetheless, if you grew up getting down to your parents’ Jackson Browne or LRB records you’ll find a lot to love here – the ‘70s Laurel Canyon vibe given a modern sheen.

Consistently abrupt and aggressive hardcore.

When doing the wrong thing never sounded so right.
