TesseracTComplexity is something British five-piece TesseracT have always tackled in fine form.
The melodic metallers follow up their 2013 opus Altered State with an equally ambitious recording, but this time the intensity and wall of dizzying melodic lines feels like they've eased into a new groove. There's less racing riffage and more laidback chugs and snapping bass, especially on Survival, and even some borderline hip hop verses on Hexes and Utopia. Throughout all is their penchant for constant time changes and arrhythmia. Far from being unwieldly, it makes for one of their most accomplished releases yet, and a relentlessly interesting listen.
