The boys have strayed out of the garage – though not too far – and onto the main stage making for an exciting new sound and a live show bursting with energy.

The night was proof once more that you just can’t go wrong with The Stabs and The Holy Soul on the same bill.

With each act hailing from Brisbane, tonight’s performances further demonstrate just why we’re a city to watch out for in the music stakes – brilliance from every band.

Overall, the evening was a very good demonstration of how it’s the small gigs that truly test the grace and integrity of an artist.

The final track of the night is dedicated to (presumably) his girlfriend, which is a great representation of his character, and a reminder as to why we’re all here tonight – love.

He loves his fans and his fans love him back. He even hangs out at the merch stand after the gig to sign stubby holders like any top bloke should.

In a venue that sounded sublime and with music bursting with cultural importance and memories, this was a very special performance.

The entire crowd joined in with a chorus of “eh, eh, oh, eh, oh”s with Smith shooting a cheeky grin to keyboard player Kyle Simmons; it was clear that the guys were moved by how involved the audience were.
