'Everything Fell Off': The Struggles That Birthed Telenova's New Album, 'The Warning'

Live Review: Tender 'Belong'

London bedroom pop duo Tender have once again shown just how good they are at lo-fi electronica with the release of their latest single, 'Belong'.

TENDER have only been around for not even three months, but they're already seeing quickly found success - and rightly so. Having released their stunning debut EP, Armour back in August, the London duo on a casual few hundred thousand plays, and they look set to do it all again with their latest single, 'Belong'.

Lo-fi electronic pop at it's best, Tender give their sound away with their name. Soft and gentle, the duo serve up a smoky slow burner with 'Belong'. Sounding like a downtempo version of JUNGLE, their pensive and poignant sounds is what keeps them separate from falling into the fray of "just another electronic act" and instead props them up alongside frontrunners like GLASS ANIMALS as serious contenders.

Considered and careful, 'Belong' is meticulously pulled off with great attention to detail and a seemingly innate knack for knowing when enough is enough.

Keeping their tracks minimal yet still sounding quite full, Tender give 'Belong' room to breathe as it wraps around you, soft and warm yet a little forlorn with it's lyrics. If it didn't sound so good, it might be a little bit confusing but it's this juxtaposition that not only pulls you in, but keeps you there.

The duo said of their latest track:

"Belong is about a self destructive individual that is fully aware of their flaws. They can’t accept being wanted or being responsible for someone else's emotions, yet relies on the very thing they fear to limit bringing physical and emotional harm the themselves."

Although there isn't any word on any future releases just yet, we can probably be safe to assume whatever they do next is going to blow us away just as much as this.
