British singer-songwriter and producer HENRY GREEN returns with evocative new tune 'Real,' the title track off his forthcoming EP which is shaping up to be a stunning follow-up to his 2015 release Slow.
At the ripe age of 21, Henry Green's work is far from green. Subtle, thoughtful, stirring, Green displays immense maturity in his nuanced style of composition. 'Real' combines the soul of satiny brass and contemporary electronica in a style that's reminiscent of BONOBO.
Whispering vocals and echoey atmospherics are slowly becoming a trademark for Henry Green, but it's the intangible elements of this track that make it so memorable. "It started out as a load of lyrical ideas and a simple chord progression on piano, but there was something intriguing about the mood it was creating," said Green.
Rising above a sea of electronic music producers is not an easy feat, but Henry Green is quickly moving into a league of his own. On first listen the gentle organ and gossamer of vocals hooks appear to be the key driver of 'Real'. Slowly, the complex layers and multifarious influences reveal themselves.
If 'Real' is any indication of the what's to come, we're keeping our eyes keenly peeled for the rest of the EP.
