"'Feel Alright' took the wildly fun set out with a bang and kept everyone dancing out the door."
Hailing from the Illawarra and often found busking on the streets of Newtown, Coast & Ocean found himself supporting Lime Cordiale on the Newtown Social stage this evening. Enchanting us with his sweet folky voice, soulful textures, rhymes and fantastic guitar technique, Alex Johnson had us under his spell. New single Doobies Girl went down a treat, despite its anti-climatic ending (due to a power outage).
Launching into their set, Hey Geronimo counted on us to get the party started, cracking out Lazer Gun Show as the second song in their set. Pete Kilroy went a bit too hard too early and broke a string, calling out for some guitar help - radio silence was received. But he didn't let this hinder the set, powering through a host of jangly, pop-rock tunes including a rocked up cover of Dolly Parton and a lively rendition of Courtney Barnett's Pedestrian At Best.
Lime Cordiale kept the party going, opening with banger Hanging Upside Down - much to the audiences' delight. They had a sizeable crowd for a Wednesday night that weren't afraid to bust a move and get down to some dubbed reggae beats.
They were live streaming their set for those sitting in their underwear at home and decided to showcase some new tunes and boppy ditties. Percussive and loaded with sex appeal, Falling Up The Stairs surfaced everyone's raucous spirit and signature dance moves.
