Entourage

"Entourage successfully amps up its excessive, bold, bro-hood strengths for the big screen, leaving a sweet, slightly envious taste in your mouth."

Fans of long-running HBO series Entourage will be more than pleased with the show’s move to the big screen.

The film stays true to a lot of the things that made the show – which finished in 2011 — so great, most particularly the bond between Vince, E, Turtle, Drama and Ari. The latter two steal the film with some great scenes and one-liners; Ari telling a much thinner Turtle that he looks like “Karen fucking Carpenter” is, mind the pun, gold. There’s also a huge number of cameos through the film, including a few familiar faces from the TV series such as Bob Saget, Andrew Dice Clay and Gary Busey.

Entourage, the film, doesn’t possess an incredibly strong script. It follows the familiar pattern of Vince and the boys trying to overcome some sort of stumbling block with a new project — this time it’s his directorial debut, Hyde, in which he’s also starring. Billy Bob Thornton plays Texan financier Larsen McCredle, from whom the studio needs more money, though the real “villain” is his son, Travis, played annoyingly well by Haley Joel Osment.

While some of the jokes seem forced and the last 20 minutes or so are a little rushed, Entourage successfully amps up its excessive, bold, bro-hood strengths for the big screen, leaving a sweet, slightly envious taste in your mouth. VICTORY!
