This is an outfit that (musically speaking) never stopped evolving.
When you listen to the beautifully crafted atmospheric/progressive rock of Distant Satellites it's incredible to think Anathema were once leaders of the death-doom movement. But this is an outfit that (musically speaking) never stopped evolving and Distant Satellites (studio album number ten) is no exception. The first half of the record is chock-full of ethereal epics like The Lost Song (Parts 1 & 2) , where the gorgeous voice of Lee Douglas reigns supreme. However, later tracks take a decidedly left-hand turn – the title track introduces elements of electronica and a skittering, off-kilter beat drives You're Not Alone.
