Darude's Other Songs
With all the hubbub around Sandstorm, it's easy to forget he's got plenty of bangers.. With today's announcement that Future Music Festival have added none other than Mr Sandstorm himself, Darude, to the lineup, we have to face the reality that one man, so adored for one song, will be playing songs for what we can only assume will be about an hour. And while Sandstorm on repeat for 60 minutes will probably make most people happy as larry, now seems like the right time to dig into the back catalogue. To be honest, when we started the idea of this article we were like 'fuck yeah Darude has heaps of bangers everyone's forgot about'. Truth be told, there aren't a lot of huge singles but it's definitely compensated by some fucking golden video clips.  Future Music Festival also has other acts like Drake, The Prodigy and Die Antwoord also playing - grab a ticket HERE. FEEL THE BEAT Darude's other major banger, and the soundtrack to your blue light discos/boosh doof days. You will feel the be

5 Essential Flips With GANZ
5 Essential Flips With GANZ. After rising to prominence over 2013/2014 with his now-patented "GANZ Flip", the Dutch producer is making his way to Australia for a very merry New Year, playing a heap of club and festival shows (check the dates down below). With that in mind we thought we'd ask him for a few hot tips on the remix front, which you can read about/listen to here. 5. Joker - Newham Generals (Trolly Snatcha Remix) For me this is probably one of the better grimey tracks that has been putted out by a dubstep dude which doesnt sounds dubsteppie to me. Def one of the tracks I only wanna jump on. 4. Slum Village - Fall In Love (Moody Good Remix) A hard and dark remix of the Slum Village classic. This one was already a masterpiece but the remix puts a grimey layer on top of it. 3. Lorde - Tennis Court (Flume Remix) The original was already perfect but I didnt expect someone could even make it bigger than that. The intro is dark and mysterious and it still surprises me when the bea

Video: Laura Marling - Short Movie
Laura Marling's single Short Movie is an enchanting slow-burner.. For those who've missed on singer-songwriter Laura Marling's overwhelming talent it's best to describe her as having the bluntness of Courtney Barnett merged with the instrumental beauty of Ben Howard. Short Movie is the title track from Laura Marling's fifth album and she has dropped a music video alongside it. The clip is simplistic in nature, making use of mostly of white and varying hues of blue in a haphazard way as if they were drawn on. Much like many of the best singer-songerwriter tracks it has humble beginnings that slowly burgeon with the expanding array of instruments before blooming with a georgeous strings section. And worth noting is the charming call and receive Marling does with her voice by varying its pitch at the beginning.  Follow Laura Marling: FACEBOOK

Video: Client Liaison - Groove The Physical
It's not the 80s' if there isn't any leopard print.. The clip for Groove The Physical is basically just one of those music videos where the club is on-point, the people are on-point and you're sitting at home eating ice cream because the latest episode of *insert popular tv show* has come out. And after their glorious video for Feed The Rhythm it's not surprising Client Liaison once again smash a rad video clip. So while you're definitely slobbing it out on a couch somewhere Client Liaison are doing their latest '80s styled video with turtle necks and leopard print to boot. There's also a Japanese neon styled zest with pink neon Japanese subtitles appearing throughout. And shot at Melbourne club Hugs & Kisses it just adds to the aura of cool.  Follow Client Liaison: FACEBOOK

Hermitude's Most Memorable New Years Eve
Hermitude chat about New Years and more acts are added to NYE On The Harbour.. Hermitude are a formidable force live; with a clear effort made to actually re-create a live performance at every gig they play, which sees the energy become almost palatable in the air. And ahead of their headlining set at NYE On The Harbour we got a hold of Hermitude to spill the guts on what their most memorable New Years Eve was... "One of the most memorable NYE moments for us was Falls Festival 2013 in Lorne, Victoria. We played right after midnight on the main stage, Vampire Weekend had just torn the place to shreds and the party was in full swing. As you can imagine, we were somewhat nervous...maybe nervous as fuck explains it better. Just before we went on someone threw a flare onstage, it landed right into a tangled pile of leads and cable on the monitoring console side of stage. Shit was hectic, there were flames, sparks and dudes running around with fire extinguishers. The stage manager came over

New Music: La Mar - Anchor (GRMM Remix)
A beautifully chilled tune gets the beautifully chilled remix it deserves.. A few weeks ago we INTRODUCED you to Sydney duo La Mar, at the time celebrating the release of their single Anchor - the second release out of the just-launched Stoney Roads Records stable. It followed on from the debut SRR release - Mazde's Shifted Thoughts feat. La Mar again. Anchor has since been remixed by Mazde and also Hatch, along with the one you're about to hear from Pile-fave GRMM. If you read Pilerats you've probably seen us extolling the virtues of GRMM for a while now (try HERE and HERE to get up to speed), and with all of this background info it should come as no surprise the combination of GRMM and La Mar makes for an absolutely killer remix, and even better - one that's free as a thankyou from La Mar for all the early-adopters out there who've gotten behind them since the start. Video: Seekae - The Stars Below
Shot in Bulgaria it continues a trend of intriguing videos from Seekae.. Seekae have just released a beautifully shot, haunting video clip for their current single The Stars Below. The connection between clip and the track itself is limited but conceptually the melding of shadows and varying hues of blues reflect the overall melancholy as Alex Cameron states, 'Do you even know what real men do?' And throughout the track bounces a CGI metallic ball which reflects the fast-paced percussion. But it's the scenery that makes the clip stand-out with it's high-vaulted ceiling and flowing buttresses that are highlighted through the clever use of angles. The location in question is Bulgaria with the town of Bankya chosen for the shoot and while it is not stated where in Bankya it was filmed it could be the Mineral Baths as the town is famous for it's mineral springs.   Seekae play next year's St Jerome's Laneway Festival - info/tickets HERE. Video: George Maple - Vacant Space [A Live Recording]
Amazing music video in-bound.. Beauty is in the simplest of things. And George Maple's live recording of Vacant Space is a testament to this. With a throbbing drum beat and strobe in sync we enter a world of mirrors that have cracked into thousands of pieces. But this disintergration has halted momentarily for the viewer. Truly the clip for the live recording is one of the most elemental but astonishingly powerful pieces of film in 2014. And if anything it highlights that George Maple is well and truly on her way to becoming a star, something that was pretty much clear with her track Talk Talk. You can watch the video clip for Vacant Space below, and if you want to gain some insight into George Maple you can read our interview with her HERE.  Follow George Maple: FACEBOOK

Create & Explore 005 - Loston x Adam Borello
A seamless conversation between musician and photographer.. Create & Explore 005 - Loston x Adam Borello is the fifth collaboration to emerge out of Ta-Ku's creative project that brings together beatmakers and photographers in one seamless conversation. Both producer Loston and photographer Adam Borello hail from Western Australia. The clip shows initial footage Perth before it merges into more natural shots of Indonesia creating a beautiful balance between urban landscapes and natural beauty. And the almost instrumental track from Loston with it's skittering drum beats and steady percussion perfectly suits the stop-start motion footage. It's truly something to behold and if you're interested you can watch the other four collaborations HERE.  Follow Loston: FACEBOOK Follow Adam Borello: INSTAGRAM
