Will Avenged Sevenfold make their long-awaited return to Australia this year? We can’t say for sure, but we believe there’s a chance.

Over the weekend, local promoters in Malaysia (Hitman Solutions) and Singapore (Midas Promotions) began teasing the American heavy metal band’s return to their shores for the first time since 2015.

The former shared a video teaser of the band’s logo – the deathbat – with a caption that teased that a “global heavy metal force” is heading to Malaysia. The promoters also encouraged fans to guess who’s coming and enter a competition to win tickets,

On Midas Promotions’ post, they shared artwork of a stadium venue in Singapore, hand-drawn in the fashion of Avenged Sevenfold’s album cover for their latest record, 2023’s Life Is But A Dream…. We expect tours – or one-off shows – in both countries to be announced this week.

With Australia’s proximity to Asia, we can’t help but wonder if maybe Avenged Sevenfold will finally make their way Down Under after a long wait.

The band last played for fans on our shores in March 2014, co-headlining Soundwave Festival alongside Green Day. They also performed sideshows at Melbourne’s Festival Hall and Sydney’s Luna Park in support of their 2013 album, Hail to the King.

Avenged Sevenfold’s most recent tour date took place in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in early February.

From July to August, the band will co-headline a run across the US with Good Charlotte. Their last tour date of the year that’s currently announced is at the Rock in Rio festival in Brazil on Saturday, 5 September.

Now, the question is, if Avenged Sevenfold make it back to Australia soon, will they embark on a full-blown tour or headline a festival like Good Things or Knotfest—the latter in 2027?

The band’s most recent album, Life Is But A Dream…, was released in June 2023. The album was led by the fascinating Black Sabbath-influenced single, Nobody.

Nobody was the band’s first new song since the previously unreleased number from the Hail To The King sessions, Set Me Free, in 2020, and Life Is But A Dream… marked their first album since 2016’s The Stage.
