Two Door Cinema ClubIrish indie-rock outfit, Two Door Cinema Club, have announced that they will be dropping their sophomore release, Beacon, on Friday 7 September via Kitsune/Cooperative Music.
The three-piece recorded the album with producer Jacknife Lee (Bloc Party, U2, REM) in his home studios, and describe the new record as a broader and mature Two Door Cinema Club sound.
"Beacon is a much more intimate record than our first, but at the same time, it's much bigger and more inclusive. Trying to find that balance has been our goal for a long time and this record takes us one step closer to the band we've dreamt of becoming," said vocalist/guitarist Alex Trimble.
This exploration into maturity can be seen in their choice of album cover artwork.
Their debut record, Tourist History, went platinum in the UK, and was filled with danceable indie-rock tunes. They were last in Australia for St. Jerome's Laneway Festival in 2011 and Splendour In The Grass 2010 before that.
