App launched six months ago

The Twitter Music app developed by Aussie-founded company We Are Hunted may be on the chopping block just six months after its launch.

Technology blog AllThingsD are reporting that Twitter are considering their music department's current format and believe that Twitter #Music is not part of the future plans.

After being purchased by Twitter We Are Hunted, which was formed in Brisbane in 2007 by Stephen Phillips, Richard Slatter, Michael Doherty and Nick Crocker (who left well before the purchase), shut down their website, a popular music chart aggregated from sources across the internet.

The app was launched with a number of celebrity endorsements, but has failed to capture the imagination of the Tweeting public. It was initially hoped that it would follow in the digital footsteps of successfully integrated video app Vine, but rankings from app analytics companies show that it has barely made an impact by comparison. According to Onavo the app's active users dropped 14.04 percent in August to just 0.10 percent of American iPhone users.

AllThingsD believe that the company are currently working out a plan and timeframe to phase the app out.
