TISMTISM are returning to their hometown of Melbourne for the first time in two years in May, and today, they’ve unveiled the special guests opening the one-off show.
Taking place on Saturday, 2 May, the group’s forthcoming gig will see them heading to PICA in Port Melbourne, with the evening described as a “one-off show not to be performed anywhere else.”
Dubbed Wankers Of The World, Unite!, the gig is accompanied by a poster that points to the band’s 1990 Hot Dogma era, though there’s no confirmation or information on whether there will be any focus on that record.
For the one-off event, TISM will be joined by Frankston’s very own The Belair Lip Bombs, Melbourne synth punks Dr Sure’s Unusual Practice, and young Aussie rockers Large Mirage.
In addition to announcing the support acts, TISM have revealed that the international theatrical debut of their 2024 Death To Art show at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl will have a one-off premiere screening at PICA. Tickets to the show are available on the David Roy Williams website.

The Belair Lip Bombs open for TISM following the release of last year’s buoyant LP, Again. Having recently performed at Laneway Festival, soon embarking on a co-headline tour with Newcastle’s Dust in the US, and opened for acts including Ladyhawke, Spacey Jane, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers and more, The Belair Lip Bombs are also the first Aussie act to be signed to Jack White’s Third Man Records.
Dr Sure’s Unusual Practice are a cult favourite in their (and TISM’s) hometown after opening shows for the likes of King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Tropical Fuck Storm and Ty Segall. Recognised for their energetic brand of synth punk and art rock, the group’s music for outsiders is dotted with political jabs and feverish performances.
Large Mirage are making waves with their psychedelic rock tunes, drawing on 1970s rock and roll while looking to the future. The band formed in 2021 and has since supported The Screaming Jets, Amyl and the Sniffers, and the Australian Rock Collective on tour, and has performed at Woodford Folk Festival, Party In The Paddock, and King Street Summer Crawl.
After a hiatus, TISM reunited in 2022, performing a run of secret shows and pulling massive crowds at Good Things Festival. They embarked on a headline tour in 2024, with their Death To Art tour featuring special guests Machine Gun Fellatio, Eskimo Joe and The Mavis’s as they played in support of their latest full-length, Death To Art.
Following its release, the album became their highest-charting release since 1995’s seminal Machiavelli and the Four Seasons.
