Tim Minchin Launches 'Matilda The Musical' In Sydney

With its opening date set for mid-2015, Aussie comedian/musician/composer Tim Minchin today attended a special launch event in Sydney for Matilda The Musical, giving punters a taste of what to expect from the Australian premiere.

Based on Roald Dahl’s classic novel, Minchin’s taken on the role of composer and lyricist for the Australian season, which opens at Sydney Lyric Theare on 28 July, and no doubt his unique and comically dark lyrics will fit the mould perfectly.

Having already worked its magic in New York and currently playing in London on Broadway, Matilda The Musical has garnered more than 50 international awards, including 12 for Best Musical.
