"He carries on about how long their flight was to get here, implying we need to try harder as audience members..."
Beloved Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora and Australia’s own Orianthi hit Melbourne on Tuesday night in support of their current joint national tour to much fanfare, but the response from the performance has been scathing to say the least, with some punters even walking out of the gig early in frustration.
According to theMusic’s own reviewer, the show at Margaret Court Arena didn’t get off to a great start as the musicians hit the stage "incredibly late".
"Sambora's voice isn't crash hot and we're unsure why they didn't fork out for a couple of primo backing singers," the review reads.
"After a couple more songs, a punter sidesteps his way along our row and yells stageward, ‘See ya later, Richie, this is BULLSHIT!’ As he strides purposefully up the stairs toward the exit, said disgruntled dude turns to look over his shoulder and hurls a final insult, ‘Ya clown!'

The review continues, "He carries on about how long their flight was to get here, implying we need to try harder as audience members, and is definitely in a mood."
A number of fans took to Sambora’s Facebook page following the concert to express their disappointment as well, with some suggesting that the acclaimed rocker appeared drunk on stage.
"What a disappointment, maybe come on sober next time & maybe some rehearsal might be an idea," one fan wrote to Sambora, while another said ‘You're a drunk, old, has been rockstar and your Meatloaf type performance was a fucking train wreck! I'm pretty sure that your singing and guitar playing...GAVE MY EARS CANCER!!!"
In contrast, Sambora and Orianthi's opening show of the tour in Adelaide on Monday was received positively by fans on his Facebook page.
The Music is awaiting comment from the tour promoter.
