"This is definitely not the end of the line for a bar with such a long legacy... "
The operator of popular Sydney live music space The Valve Bar has announced they will be looking for a new destination once the venue closes its doors on 30 September.
Greg Nusinovitsch issued a statement regarding the George Street venue's forthcoming closure on Facebook today.
"We have tried to do all we can to avoid this, but due to irreconcilable differences in Valve Bar ethos and current operational plan of Agincourt Hotel our tenancy had to come to abrupt end," the statement reads.
"We've worked over two decades on building the friendliest artist and patron environment and can't condone inadequate treatment of the community that has supported and nurtured this bar.
"I would like to apologise immensely for not keeping the doors open, but will be letting you down more by hosting the party you wouldn't want to come to, than temporary discontinuing."
"This is definitely not the end of the line for a bar with such a long legacy, and we will be opening doors elsewhere in Sydney soon."
