The Temper TrapLauded local rockers The Temper Trap have taken out the week's only debut spot on the Carlton Dry Independent Singles Chart — the highest entry of the week across the board, no less — by claiming #3 with new track Fall Together.
The Sweet Disposition hitmakers aren't quite able to unseat the top two singles from their well-worn places of power, meaning Sia (Cheap Thrills) and Flume (Never Be Like You, ft. Kai) remain atop the pile for another week. The Temper Trap's inclusion in the rankings this week sees last week's top debutantes, Sneaky Sound System, drop a place to #4 with I Ain't Over You, flowing on to drop The Rubens' Hoops to #5.
Both The Temper Trap and Sia make repeat appearances inside the top 10 to boot, with the former skating in at the cutoff with Thick As Thieves at #10, and the latter still a force to be reckoned with as Alive (#6) and Chandelier (#8) remain in the top half, with Elastic Heart literally just outside at #11.
Her success continues in the full-length stakes, where C3 Music is the week's sole new entrant, coming in at #4 with Abide; Sia not only maintains her place atop the chart with #1 album This Is Acting but twice more in the top 10, also seeing strong results for previous releases 1000 Forms Of Fear (#3) and Best Of... (#6). The Cat Empire remains strong at #2 with Rising With The Sun, while Urthboy drops a rung to see The Past Beats Inside Me Like A Second Heartbeat settle at #5.

However, unlike the Singles chart, this week's Album ladder also sees a handful of re-entries to the list shaking things up, albeit it in the back half — The Smith St Band lead the charge of returning faces, coming back at #17 with Throw Me In The River. They're joined by Seth Sentry, whose Strange New Past is back at #18, and Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu, whose Gurrumul album returns at #19 for its 302nd(!) week on the chart.
