The Second Teaser For 'Star Wars: Episode VII' Will Make You Feel Like A Kid Again

We're so excited, we need a nap

In the wee hours of this morning (AEST), Disney and Lucasfilm hosted a joint live-streamed panel to talk all things Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens, featuring film director J.J. Abrams and producer Kathleen Kennedy... and the global unveiling of the second teaser trailer for the eagerly awaited sequel.

If the reaction to the film's first teaser was positive, then the early response to the new snippets of footage is downright feverish, with fans around the web sent into rapture over the two-minute clip, which features narration by Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), a shot of Darth Vader's melted, disfigured helmet, the ruins of a Star Destroyer, action scenes filled with X-Wings and TIE Fighters and the Millennium Falcon, and even the appearance of Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Chewbacca (freshly graduated from a foray into stand-up comedy) themselves.

Strap yourselves in, nerf herders - Star Wars just might have got its groove back.

Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens is due for release on 16 December this year, and stars Daisy Ridley, Lupita Nyong'o, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson and original-series cast members Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill stepping back into the roles and galaxy far, far away that made them household names almost 40 years ago.
