American rockers The Fray will return to Australia in early 2027. Today, the multi-Platinum-selling outfit has announced a huge run of headline shows, as well as headlining the next leg of Lookout Festival.
Today’s announcement follows The Fray’s six-date, sold-out run across Australia last year. With their upcoming Summer of Light tour, they’re making it a 2000s alt-rock-meets-emo love affair, with special guests Dashboard Confessional opening the shows. Australian country star Rachael Fahim also joins the touring line-up.
The tour begins at Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena on Friday, 5 February. It continues at Wollongong’s Waves on Wednesday, 10 February, Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on Thursday, 11 February, and concludes at Auckland’s Eventfinda Stadium on Wednesday, 17 February.
Artist pre-sales open on Tuesday, 15 September, at 10 am local time, followed by TEG Live pre-sale on Wednesday, 16 September, at 10 am, and the general sale on Thursday, 17 September, at 10 am local time.
Head to the promoter website, TEG Live, for more ticketing information.
In addition to their headline shows, The Fray will headline the following dates of Lookout Festival: Saturday, 6 February, at Torquay Common; Sunday, 7 February, at Perth’s Kings Park & Botanic Garden; Saturday, 13 February, at Lake Macquarie’s Speers Point Park; and Sunday, 14 February, at Sandstone Point Hotel.
Special guests Bastille, Dashboard Confessional, Killing Heidi, and Little Birdy will join The Fray on all festival dates.
The Artist pre-sale will be available on Tuesday, 15 September, at 10 am local time, followed by the Face To Face touring pre-sale on Wednesday, 16 September, at 10 am. The general sale opens on Thursday, 17 September, at 10 am local time—head to the Lookout Festival website for more information on tickets and each show.
“We had such an incredible time touring in Australia in 2025,” said The Fray’s Joe King. “The energy from those crowds was unbelievable.
“To come back and be able to share ‘A Light That Waits’ alongside our lifelong anthems—and to have our long-time friends Dashboard Confessional with us—is going to make these nights unforgettable.”
The Fray are touring in support of their acclaimed album, A Light That Waits, their first full-length album as a core trio – Joe King, Dave Welsh, and Ben Wysocki – in over a decade.
The band rose to prominence in the early 2000s, dominating the airwaves with their breakout masterpiece, How to Save a Life, which also featured in hit television series such as Grey’s Anatomy and One Tree Hill.
