It’s been a big week for one of Australia’s favourite artists, Tash Sultana, who today shares a new single dedicated to their wife, who recently received a cancer diagnosis.

Today’s news comes after Tash announced a massive US tour and their upcoming show at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado sold out in minutes.

Tash continues their charge into 2025 with the new track Hold On, which has been described as “a powerful anthem of resilience.” It’s about Tash making their voice heard after dealing with the suffocating weight of their wife receiving a cancer diagnosis, channelling their raw power and defiance to keep moving forward.

Tash said of Hold On, “Some moments change everything. HOLD ON is for my wife. It’s for anyone who’s ever had to find strength when life pulls the ground out from under you. Hope this one reaches whoever needs it.”

You can check out Hold On and watch a video of Tash discussing the life-changing diagnosis below.

The release of Hold On follows Tash’s drop of the recent single, Milk & Honey, their first new track in 18 months and signified a return to their looping roots.

Tash’s most recent album, Terra Firma, arrived in 2021 and became their first to top the Aussie charts. In 2023, they released the Sugar EP, which featured singles such as James Dean, New York, and Bitter Lovers – a collaboration with BJ The Chicago Kid.
