28 DaysAustralian punk rockers 28 Days are commemorating their 30th anniversary, and to celebrate, they’re heading across the country for a headline tour.
From their humble beginnings of hanging out at a Frankston skate park in the late ‘90s, 28 Days carved their own space in Australian music thanks to their brand of energetic rap-metal.
Their breakthrough second album, Upstyledown, landed at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart in 2000 and subsequently went Platinum. The record was bolstered by the mosh-ready, hit singles Rip It Up, Say What?, and Sucker, songs that have become part of Australia’s cultural DNA.
Another two albums, two EPs, and singles followed, with the band’s most recent single, Unmarked Graves, released in 2015. That hasn’t stopped 28 Days from touring and playing the old stuff, though.
The band’s 30th anniversary tour begins at Sydney’s Crowbar on Friday, 5 June. The fun continues at Crowbar Brisbane on Saturday, 6 June, Melbourne’s Prince Bandroom on Friday, 26 June, and concludes at Adelaide’s Lion Arts Factory on Saturday, 27 June.
Pre-sale tickets will be available on Monday, 30 March, at 9 am local time – head to the Teamwrk Touring website for more ticketing information.

At the peak of their powers, 28 Days were a mainstay of the Big Day Out, Homebake, and Channel [V] era—and they’re still bringing that familiar energy to the stage.
With a press release noting that the forthcoming run “isn’t about nostalgia for the sake of it,” 28 Days are celebrating three decades of standing the test of time and doing things their way.
If you’re keen, it’s time to dust off your camo shorts, find your wallet chain, start riding your skateboard again, and try not to hurt yourself in the mosh pit.
