KornIs the surprise Korn resurgence continuing thanks to another TikTok trend? It sure seems so—it’s only a matter of time before Freak On A Leash returns to the charts.
Consequence of Sound reports that the song, which was released in 1998, is experiencing a viral moment on TikTok after a dance craze was introduced by fans of Swedish pop singer Zara Larsson and her song, Lush Life (released in 2015).
In November, 16-year-old Zara Larsson fan Julia Coster was invited onstage at the singer’s show in the Netherlands, where she performed a choreographed dance to Lush Life with Larsson. After that performance, the 11-year-old single encountered a new lease of fame when the dance quickly caught on and spread like wildfire with fans on TikTok and Instagram.
Now, fans have discovered that the BPM of the breakdown in Korn’s Freak On A Leash lines up perfectly with the Lush Life dance, resulting in a new wave of viral videos.
You can watch some of the Freak On A Leash and Lush Life videos below.
Korn last visited Australia in December 2024, when they headlined Good Things Festival in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane and presented a one-night-only sideshow in Adelaide. The shows marked their first performances in Australia in six years.

From the ‘90s to their 2022 album, Requiem, Korn have remained a mainstay in the heavy music circuit. Requiem is Korn’s tenth Top 10 album in Australia and third #1, following 1998’s Follow The Leader and 1999’s Issues.
Meanwhile, Zara Larsson is returning to Australia for the first time in over a decade this October, and due to extraordinary demand, has added extra shows and upgraded venues to arenas. You can find tickets to the tour here.
Larsson is touring in support of her latest album, Midnight Sun, released last June. An album packed with confidence and trust, the storytelling highlights truth and vulnerability as she showcases her artistry and journey of over 20 years as a performer.
The singer showcases all aspects of her personality, from wistful and lovestruck to ambitious, cocky and flippant, to a more vulnerable, uncertain side. The album marks the follow-up to Larsson’s first three albums – So Good (2017), Poster Girl (2021), and VENUS (2024).
