LA favourites Silversun Pickups will finally return to Australia this July after a long 14-year wait.

The band’s forthcoming Australian tour will see them celebrate the release of their recently released album Tenterhooks, performing tracks from the LP alongside other songs, including hits Lazy Eye, Panic Switch, and more.

With support from New Zealand indie rockers Coast Arcade, the tour kicks off in Perth at Astor Theatre on July 21, before venturing to The Gov in Adelaide on July 22, The Tivoli in Brisbane on July 24, Odeon in Hobart on July 25, The Forum in Melbourne on July 28, and the Enmore Theatre in Sydney on July 29.

Presale kicks off next Monday, March 30, at 9am local time, before general on sale commences the following day, March 31, at 9am local time.

Silversun Pickups’ 2012 visit saw them perform at Harvest Festival and co-headline shows with The Dandy Warhols.

On their festival set, The Music noted: “Old favourite Lazy Eye has the large contingent front of stage blissfully singing along, as does Bloody Mary as Brian Aubert wails high-pitched… their use of electronic instruments and refusal to stick to one genre is inspired and justifies the sunburn.”

After breaking through with their 2006 debut album Carnavas, Silversun Pickups scored a Best New Artist nomination at the 2010 Grammys with follow-up Swoon.

The band’s following album, Neck Of The Woods, which they toured Down Under, scored favourable reviews and was followed up with Better Nature and Widow’s Weeds in 2015 and 2019, respectively, both of which Aussie fans hoped would see them return.
