Aus alt-synth megastar Tame Impala has confirmed that the planned December tour has been forced back to late next year due to the ongoing pandemic lockdowns and setbacks.
The producer - known offstage as Kevin Parker - will be bringing The Slow Rush Tour along with live band to October 2022, with all originally purchased tickets remaining valid for the new dates.
Parker has been at the forefront of safe live music practices in recent times, going so far as to change venues for a US show last week when it was revealed the venue in question would not require proof of vaccination for the show.
"The current venue will not comply with our COVID protocols that were put into place to keep our crew, artists and fans safe, so we have no choice but to move to a new venue," he wrote on the band's Facebook page.
Parker also announced new tour support for the Australian run of shows.
He'll be joined by Canberra rap star Genesis Owusu and young Brisbane producer Sycco throughout the country. Meanwhile, the New Zealand leg of the tour will see Ladyhawke as the opening act.
