More SZA More SZA

Kill Bill (Top Dawg/RCA) becomes the 1121st #1 Single in Australia (1940 to 2023), the 556th for ARIA (1983 to 2023), the second chart-topping single for 2023 and the first new song to hit the top for the new calendar year. Plus, it's also the first ever #1 single for the US artist, surpassing her #2 peaks as a guest on both All the Stars (Feb 26th, 2018) with Kendrick Lamar and Kiss Me More with Doja Cat (May 10th & 17th, then four more weeks from June 7th 2021, LW-#54), and also the first ever #1 song for the record label Top Dawg through RCA, who saw their last chart-topping single being P!nk with What About Us on August 21st, 2017 for two weeks, with the SZA track now becoming RCA's 71st #1 single in Australia since their first in 1954.

The single is also at the top again in New Zealand (4th week), plus her album SOS is #2 locally and at the top in NZ, The U.S.A. (both 4th week) and returns in Canada (3rd week). The new #1 song also becomes the 103rd by an American Solo Female Artist to land at the top of the Australian Singles Chart, the 718th #1 song performed by an American Act (solo male or female, duo or group), while SZA becomes the 424th American Performer to make the top of our singles survey.

This is now the second #1 single in Australia with just the word 'Kill' in its title, the other was the U2 song from Batman Forever and Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me (6 weeks from July 9th, 1995) and now the first ever 'Bill', although we've come closer in the past with Bills by LunchMoney Lewis (2 weeks from March 23rd, 2015), Billie Jean for Michael Jackson (5 weeks from April 11th, 1983) and Billy - Don't Be a Hero for Paper Lace (8 weeks from June 17th, 1974). Kill Bill is also newly certified as Gold (●) in sales this week, plus Australia is now the sixth country in the world to make this song a No.1 track after aforementioned New Zealand, the track has also topped the charts in Indonesia, Malaysia, The Philippines and Singapore.

Taylor Swift's Anti-Hero is back up one spot to #3 in Australia, while after the Xmas deluge has now left the U.S. Singles chart, she has bounced back to their #1 spot for a seventh overall stay at the top there while logging a fifth week at the top in Ireland is Escapism for RAYE with 070 Shake, which loses the top spot in England to the new Lewis Capaldi track, and locally the song jumps up three places to score a new peak of #4, now becoming her first ever Top 5 placement in Australia.
