Sydney’s melodic hardcore band Bloom have shared a major announcement: they’re embarking on their first-ever headline show in the US next month.
While they’re currently on tour in the UK and Europe, opening for fellow Aussies Thornhill on their BODIES tour, Bloom will soon be in America, supporting Silverstein in North America on the 25 Years of Noise Tour, also featuring Thursday and Free Throw.
Between those dates, the rockers have announced a headline show at Subterranean in Chicago on Thursday, 13 November. The show will happen just weeks after Bloom releases their new album, The Light We Chase, next Friday (31 October). You can pre-order/pre-save the album here.
They said of the gig on social media, “DEBUT USA HEADLINE SHOW. We’re thrilled to announce our very first headline show in Chicago next month. We’ll be celebrating our brand new record, The Light We Chase, with a brand new setlist full of new songs being performed live for the very first time.
“Tickets are on sale now from our bio.”

Earlier this month, Bloom dropped another single from their forthcoming album, the blistering Out Of Reach. The track follows the release of two other singles, Withered and Tongue Tied (featuring Yours Truly’s Mikaila Delgado). The album is the band’s first effort to feature guest vocalists, with Void Of Vision’s Jack Bergin and Movements’ Patrick Miranda also set to appear on the record.
Upon announcing the album in August, which will be released via the American record label Pure Noise Records, drummer Jack Van Vliet explained, “In many ways, the album is an oxymoron. You can’t catch light in your hands, and you can’t have darkness without the light casting its shadow.”
He continued, “We all have an idea of something perfect. A memory, a vision of the future, a light at the end of the tunnel. The Light We Chase is that perfection. The sublime. The taste of something good. Our widest exploration of how far metalcore can be pushed and shaped, this album is lyrically diverse as it is instrumentally.”
Vocalist Jono Hawkey added, “I feel like we learned a lot from releasing album one, as well as the music that’s come before that. We’re now at a point where we’re very confident in our sound, and we’re willing to take more risks.”
In September, Bloom went on a mostly sold-out tour across the country.
