More Stormzy More Stormzy

UK rapper Stormzy has apologised for a number of homophobic tweets he shared a few years ago that were discovered this week.

As PinkNews reports, the grime MC repeatedly used homophobic slurs in a series of tweets posted between 2011 and 2014, including one tweet that read, "That black man dancing in the lucozade advert is a big f***ot".

Returning to Twitter yesterday, Stormzy apologised for his comments.

"I said some foul and offensive things whilst tweeting years ago at a time when I was young and proudly ignorant," the 24-year-old tweeted.

"Very hurtful and discriminative views that I’ve unlearned as I’ve grown up and become a man."

The tweets continued, "The comments I made were unacceptable and disgusting, full stop. Comments that I regret and to everyone I’ve offended, I am sorry, these are attitudes I’ve left in the past."

Stormzy is set to arrive in Australia next month for appearances at NYE and NYD festivals, Beyond The Valley, Origin and Field Day, as well as a headline show in Brisbane.
