Maple's Pet DinosaurRising Australian singer-songwriter Maple’s Pet Dinosaur has signed a global deal with Warner Music Australia and In Bloom.
Coinciding with the announcement, the 15-year-old artist has shared the new single Child’s Play – the title track from her forthcoming debut EP, scheduled for release on Friday, 30 October. You can pre-order/pre-save the EP here.
Additionally, Maple has signed with Raw Power Management and global talent agency CAA. The former represents acts such as Bring Me the Horizon, Bullet for My Valentine, and The Mars Volta.
“Signing a global deal ahead of my debut EP Child’s Play is a dream come true,” Maple shared in a statement.
“Dan [Rosen] and the team at Warner Music in Australia have confidently empowered my creative vision and process at home, while Johnny [Minardi]’s A&R chops and personal support, coupled with his team at In Bloom’s global footprint, puts me in a great position to spread the project internationally.”
She continued, “I’m genuinely grateful for this level of belief from one of the best labels in the world, and I can’t wait to see what we will be able to do together - this will be fun!”

Maple’s new song, Child’s Play, was written from her perspective as a teenage girl navigating male-dominated environments, such as music festivals and clubs.
“Lyrically, this song takes metaphorical revenge on people who don’t take you seriously because of your age (or anything else),” she explained.
“I think it’s a concept that can translate to anyone who has ever felt like they are being kept in their box - I hope it inspires them to pick up a machete and cut their way out.”
She added, “I thought it would be fun to fuse Ariana Grande or Xtina-style vocal runs over something really dirty and heavy. I love exploring new ideas inside heavy, alt-metal - or whatever people want to define my genre as.”

Since dropping her debut, breakthrough single, lego last August – a track that subsequently went viral thanks to its Ring camera-led music video – Maple’s Pet Dinosaur has racked up impressive achievements.
Maple followed lego with the release of the single, chorus, and performed her third-ever show at SXSW Sydney. She then became the youngest artist to ever appear at Good Things Festival, featuring on last year’s bill alongside Tool, Weezer, Garbage, and many others.
Since the December festival, Maple has appeared at this year’s Groovin the Moo in New South Wales and Darwin’s BASSINTHEGRASS festival – on the main stage, no less. She’s also secured a spot on Australia’s metal cruise, Hellbound, and amassed co-signs from the likes of Fred Durst and Yungblud.
