Storm Forces Victorian Music Festival To Shut Down

Storm hit midway through James Reyne's set

Mornington Peninsula's Between The Bays Festival was shutdown as a storm swept through Victoria last night.

The festival, now in its tenth year, was hit by the wild weather conditions at 8.20pm.

Singer James Reyne was on stage when gale force winds hit the festival site wreaking havoc to tents, rides and non-permanent structures.

Organisers shut the festival down due to overwhelming safety concerns. Reyne's set was halted and a later set by The Wagons was cancelled.

No injuries were reported and festival organisers have praised the quick responses of staff, stall holders, artists and crew.
