More Speed More Speed

Sydney-based hardcore band SPEED are continuing the momentum of their debut album, ONLY ONE MODE, today announcing the hard-hitting new EP, ALL MY ANGELS.

The new project is set for release on Thursday, 23 October, via Last Ride Records in Australia and Flatspot Records in the US. At the time of publication, no pre-order or pre-save links are live, so keep an eye on the band’s social media accounts as more information drops.

Since their formation in 2019, SPEED have evolved from a DIY Australian hardcore band to an undeniable global presence. Retaining their DIY hardcore ethos, the band have amassed fans worldwide with their unique take on the genre.

Releasing their debut album ONLY ONE MODE last year, SPEED topped the charts and won the ARIA Award for Best Hard Rock or Heavy Metal Album. The band have continued to tour non-stop, but during this period, they faced grief following insurmountable losses.

ALL MY ANGELS reflects on the passing of three of SPEED’s closest friends while the band toured and found success across the globe. The EP finds the five-piece grappling with collective grief, bringing them closer together and once again stretching the expectations of modern hardcore.

SPEED’s forthcoming EP will drop while they’re in the midst of supporting Baltimore hardcore band Turnstile in the US – that tour begins in mid-September and continues for a month. Following the release of ALL MY ANGELS, SPEED will support British metal group Malevolence in the UK.

Earlier this year, SPEED became the first-ever Australian hardcore band to perform at one of the biggest music festivals in the world, Coachella. In addition to the bands mentioned above, they’ve shared stages with Madball, Knocked Loose and Gorilla Biscuits, while continuously spotlighting and advocating for young hardcore talent.

Tomorrow (3 August), SPEED will conclude their final Australian tour of the year in Perth. For the tour, they’ve been joined by special guests, Thai outfit Whispers and Newcastle hardcore band Feel The Pain. The extensive run was booked as a “no barricade mosh pit” tour.
