Genesis Owusu ProfileGenesis Owusu is already on your TV for a recent KFC advertisement, and now his song STAMPEDE soundtracks Apple’s campaign for the new iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max.
The track is synced globally for the campaign. Apple unveiled their “Surprise and Shine” keynote at Apple Park in California this week, where the company showcased the new iPhone. During the campaign premiere, viewers were treated to the talents of Genesis Owusu.
STAMPEDE is an anthem pulled from the rapper and singer’s latest album, REDSTAR WU & THE WORLDWIDE SCOURGE, released in May.
The track is about recognising the power of community and giving voice to rebellion. With Owusu’s signature vocals, abrasive synths, and unrelenting drums, the track’s sonic body shows the genre-defying star experimenting with synth-punk.
“Left side to the right side, front side to the back,” he raps. In a statement, Owusu explains, “We’re all in this together. And there’s a real problem.
“There are people who have expansive amounts of money, who are intentionally acting to separate us so they can keep getting richer at the expense of general human wellbeing. We’re all under that same thumb, and we need to realise that.”

Upon its release, REDSTAR WU & THE WORLDWIDE SCOURGE debuted at #1 on the ARIA Australian Artists chart and Vinyl Chart, as well as #3 on the ARIA Albums Chart. The album also landed at #1 on the SubModern Albums chart in the US and was Feature Album across triple j.
Genesis Owusu then took the album on the road, starting with the REDSTAR WU’S PIRATE RADIO Tour across nine Australian dates, followed by a sold-out run in Europe and the UK. He recently came back home to perform at triple j’s One Night Stand festival in Griffith, NSW.
