Can Paramore knock off BMTH?
Bring Me The Horizon will this week face a tough challenge from fellow Soundwave artists Paramore on the ARIA Album Chart according to midweek figures, while English singer-songwriter Passenger continues to snap at their heels.
UK metalcore outfit Bring Me The Horizon went two-from-two for Sempiternal this week, knocking Justin Timberlake's Gold-accredited off the top rung. It's a week of strong international releases though and American pop-punk outfit Paramore will themselves be looking for a second consecutive number one with Paramore. Back in 2009 their previous record Brand New Eyes peaked at number one, spending a total of 15 weeks in the top 50.
James Blake also has a new record in the form of Overgrown, and you can bet your house that it will chart higher that his previous peak of 32 (in 2011 with James Blake).
Existing contenders who are genuine number-one hopes include Passenger's All The Little Lights, which is proving a stayer thanks to number one single Let Her Go. Bruno Mars is also tracking well early in the week with Unorthodox Jukebox, which has already peaked at number one, thanks to his performance on the Logies this week.

Even if Bring Me The Horizon get bumped from the top this week, their UK-based manager Matt Ash told theMusic.com.au that they're already “blown away” with the success.
“It's a territory we've always considered very important for the band,” he said, “and we've had some fantastic partners supporting us from our new label led by Ian Grady and his team at Sony to AJ Maddah and the guys at Soundwave, the great support we've had from triple j and to the all the rock press in Australia.
“To prove that [2010's] There Is A Hell... reaching the top spot wasn't a one off and to triple the sales over the counter [approximately 10,000] with Sempiternal is something were very proud of and excited about – we cant wait to get the band back down there to headline again.”
In the ARIA Singles Chart Passenger appears to be holding down the top spot with the Let Her Go single tracking well midweek. Last week's challengers Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Ray Dalton's Can't Hold Us and Mtko's Thank You are still hovering in the top three.
Highest local entry, Stafford Brothers featuring Lil Wayne and Christina Milian's Hello looks set to climb further into the top ten as well.
