Celebrating three decades of their Full Frequency program, Perth community radio station RTRFM will be turning the heat up to commemorate WA’s dance music go-to hub.

Full Frequency was established as RTRFM’s answer to dance music coverage, making its introduction at the pinnacle of rave culture in ‘95. As the program grew in popularity, it was blessed with the peak-hour 3-5pm slot from Monday to Friday, and changed the pearl-clutching attitudes of dance music and culture to that of something to celebrate in WA.

Today, the station keeps the party going by playing anything from “house and techno permutations, functional dance traxxx, esoteric beats and bleeps, the 'ardcore continuum and plenty of curveballs.”

Full Frequency will celebrate it’s 30th birthday on Saturday 30th November, will a free party kicking off at Northbridge’s PICA bar from 2pm onwards.

The event will include sets from RTRFM’s own Micah & Mittens, as well as Allstate, Dart, Nina BC, Nafta, Yikes, & Rok Riley. Other special guests are still to be announced.

While entry is free, punters are advised to consider donating to keep the station’s legacy alive, whether that be through RTRFM’s website or via buying a bevvy on the night as all drink sales will count as donations.

Whether you were there from Full Frequency’s anything-but-humble beginnings, or have jumped on the dance bandwagon recently, get amongst the celebrations and pay homage to 30 years of soundtracking big nights out.
