Royal Headache On Vivid Incident: 'Drunk Rock’N’Roll Fans Are Dumb, Police Are Even Dumber'

New footage emerges

Just a day after police stormed the stage during a Repressed Records showcase at the Sydney Opera House, the act performing at the time, Royal Headache, have spoken out about the incident.

Frontman of the band, Shogun spoke to The Guardian about the police's actions, who ceased the band's performance for Vivid Live on Saturday night after some punters made their way up on the stage to dance with the band members.

“I didn’t want to see the police start breaking people’s arms and faces,” Shogun said.

“I could see it could easily go in that direction because drunk rock’n’roll fans are dumb and police are even dumber.”

The incident happened after the band launched into fan favourite Down The Lane and though there were no injuries or arrests, it is understood that the police were on site by coincidence as they were "conducting routine patrols."

New footage has emerged from the night of the concert  were the police being too aggressive with the patrons?

When contacted, the NSW Police told TheMusic: "There is no comment to make at this time."

Meanwhile, an Opera House spokesperson said: "Towards the end of the Royal Headache performance , some members of the audience made their way up on stage."

"Security attended and assisted patrons back to their seats. The performance resumed and the band completed their set."
