Spacey JaneThe Music chooses one song every week as its Power Pick, shining a light on ONE Aussie song that we think has the potential to be the next big Australian chart hit.
Our Power Pick committee consists of Richard Kingsmill (consultant and former triple j Group Music Director), Maddy Rowe (Nova nights announcer), Nic Kelly (Hit Network nights announcer), Ash McGregor (host of Listen Up with Ash McGregor), Kent “Smallzy” Small (Host of ‘The Smallzy Show’ on the Kiis Network), Irene Hulme (radio consultant and host of Game Changers Radio podcast) and Ollie Wards (ex-Head of Music for TikTok Australia).
They’re an unstoppable force in the Australian indie rock scene, and just one year removed from their ARIA-nominated third album, If That Makes Sense, Perth outfit Spacey Jane already have big plans for 2026.
Having released Do You Really Love Her a few months ago, the group just last month announced the release of their forthcoming EP, Exit Wounds. Set for release on June 12th, the six-track collection has now been teased by the release of their latest instant classic, I Never See Her.
“I Never See Her’ is about rationalising a breakup,” says frontman Caleb Harper. “It's a conversation you have with yourself when you're delaying the inevitable and anticipating the grief. It's also about longing for a place that will hold you and keep you safe – trying to define what home means and where it is.”

Alongside the announcement of their forthcoming EP, Spacey Jane have also detailed a run of national tour dates for later in the year. Dubbed the Heading Back Down Under tour, the national trek will see the group supported by Telenova and Armlock. Tickets to these dates are on sale now.
CHART UPDATE
For the first time since late 2025, the highest-placing local act on the Radio Monitor Hot 100 is not Sonny Fodera, with Josh Fawaz entering the top ten thanks to his take on Madonna’s Like A Prayer.
Currently sitting at No. 9, it makes Fawaz the only Aussie in the top ten, with Tame Impala'‘s Dracula following at No. 16, and Fodera’s Think About Us reaching No. 17 after having previously topped the chart.
Rachael Fahim’s Deep End rises to a peak of No. 23, while Amy Shark’s The Biggest Dick sits at No. 28, followed directly by a previous Power Pick, The Kid LAROI’s PIECES, at No. 29.
No Aussies appear in the 30s, but Darcie Haven’s Wishbone makes moves to a peak of No. 42, while DMA’S’ Heatin Park sits at No. 45.
Closing out the top 50, Kylie Minogue’s Light Up debuts at No. 47, while Leyla Ebrahimi’s I'm Sorry Maria cracks the top 50 at No. 49 after debuting at No. 62 last week.
On the ARIA Singles chart, Tame Impala’s Dracula sits nicely at at No. 6, while the only other Aussie act in the top 50 is G Flip, whose Bed On Fire debuts at No. 48 this week.
