The Bigger Lights discuss band status and the future
Topher Talley, frontman of The Bigger Lights has posted a statement on his blog regarding the band's status and their future together. You can read it below. "We have talked about formal ways of saying it, or talking about it or whatever, but its just too hard to describe. The industry & timing really kicked our bands butt and it was so frustrating for all the years we were touring. We came to a point as adults where it just didn’t make sense to continue to approach TBL the way we always had. TBL is no longer anyones priority, but it holds an enormous place in all of our hearts. Its incredibly sad because we (the members) love TBL & its supporters more than anything. We all remain friends and keep close contacts with each other and we still care about each other like a family. We have, and in my opinion, never will dismiss the idea of making more music together at some point, in some fashion, down the line because I really truly believe that our chemistry as a band is something mag...

Emmure announce new drummer
Emmure has announced the addition of Mark Costillo (ex-Bury Your Dead) as their new drummer.  Guitarist Jesse Ketive had this to say about the addition: “Mark Costillo has been a good friend for a few years now. Mark approached us as he heard through the grapevine that EMMURE needed a helping hand, so at that point I chatted with him about possibly recording our new CD and playing some shows. After jamming the set a few times we all decided that Mark was the perfect fit for us and undoubtedly should be our new drummer. He is the upmost professional and his work on the new effort in going to really help us bring everything to another level. Everyone better watch out." The band is currently in the studio with producer Joey Sturgis (Asking Alexandria, The Devil Wears Prada) tracking their new album, with a release expected later this year via Sumerian.

The Casket Lottery sign to No Sleep Records
The Casket Lottery are the newest addition to the No Sleep Records family. No Sleep Records are proud to announce they will be releasing the band's yet to be titled fifth full length album mid-2012. "Whereas Kansas City's favorite sons are defined by their traditional harmonious and abrasive bombardment of punk and hardcore tenacity, they have now created tracks which are entirely more fleshed out than previous releases. No longer afraid of being limited as a trio, the sails have been cast into the water's trenches in order to further explore the boundaries of Casket Lottery’s own songs. Recorded at Black Lodge Recordings with Ed Rose in Eudora, KS during the Fall and Winter of 2011/2012, the band's latest will be a darker album than anything they've recorded in the past. Said direction was hinted at with "Survival is for Cowards" and "The Smoke and Mirrors EP" yet the "weight of the day" theme has been revisited to set the tone of goth punk songs that are as angry and triumphan...
