Chugg & Gudinski To Reunite After 20 Years For Groundbreaking Partnership

'We’re both equally passionate about ensuring we continue to set the bar for touring Down Under.'

Australian music industry legends Michael Chugg and Michael Gudinski have announced they will reunite in business after 20 years for a groundbreaking new partnership.

The new venture will see Chugg Entertainment and Frontier Touring join forces as co-promoters on all Chugg Entertainment events, effective from 1 April.

The companies will also partner on the hugely-popular CMC Rocks QLD festival.

Chugg Entertainment Managing Director Susan Heymann will continue in the role and report to Chugg and Gudinski on all joint ventures, while staff from Chugg Entertainment's live division will integrate with the Frontier team.

Since forming Frontier together in 1979, Chugg and Gudinski worked to bring some of the biggest tours to Australia and New Zealand before Chugg went independent in 1999.

“Michael and I have been in and out of business together for almost half a century and we’ve both seen a lot change in that time," Gudinski said.

"There’s no doubt that live touring in Australasia is undergoing its biggest transition ever and we’re both equally passionate about ensuring we continue to set the bar for touring down under.

“Chuggi and Susan have built a great team that punches above their weight and I’m excited about what the Chugg and Frontier teams can achieve together.”

Chugg added that now is the "perfect time" to reunite with his fellow industry partner.

"Michael and I share so much history and so many stories, it feels right for us to move forward into the future with Frontier Touring," he said.

"We both love to wind it up and fight the good fight, we’re going to be louder and prouder together. Look out!”

Heymann added of the partnership, "With all that knowledge and experience, as well as the other music businesses in the Mushroom Group to lean on and collaborate with, I’m excited to see what the Chugg Entertainment and Frontier Touring teams can accomplish together".

Gudinski, Chugg and Heymann placed #1, #11 and #30 respectively in this year's Power 50 list. Read the story and view their profiles here.
