Melbourne's East Brunswick Hotel Returns With Promise Of Live Music

It's a beloved venue that closed its doors as a live music venue back in 2012 but now Melbourne's East Brunswick Hotel is back after a huge renovation and with the promise of live music returning.

Formerly known as the East Brunswick Club, the venue has previously played host to the likes of Angus & Julia Stone, The Temper Trap, Jet and more, before closing in 2012. It was then re-opened as an up-market pub in 2015 before sitting vacant for the past 18 months. 

As reported by the Herald Sun, the Lygon Street property was purchased in December 2017 for $4.84 million by Scott Didier and has since undergone new renovations which includes 12 boutique hotel rooms and a newly refurbished bar area.

"The history and presence of this venue makes it one of the most unique pubs in Melbourne, and one with so much potential as a community pub, boutique hotel and home to live music," said Didier to the publication.

While the original band room is closed, the bar area now includes a stage which is expected to host sets Thursday-Sunday, including a performance from musician Joel Quinn this Sunday, 2 Sep from 1pm.
