Three lower-east-half dates this June and July for the 'one-woman industrial rave' spectacular
Stalwart Melburnian musician Simona Castricum is riding the buoyant wave behind her recently released third album, #TriggerWarning40, up and down the lower east half of the country this June and July, announcing a three-date tour in support of the record's vinyl pressing, Castricum's first-ever such release.
Presented by LISTEN Records — which released the album — the tour will see Castricum stage her one-woman industrial-rave production in Hobart (Grimoire Festival @ Brisbane Hotel, Saturday 18 June), at home in Melbourne (Hugs N Kisses, Friday 1 July), and as far north as Sydney (The Red Rattler, Saturday 30 July). She'll be joined in Melbourne by Pillow Pro, Callan and DJs Brooke Powers, Infinity Blade and Avery.
For those who haven't yet been introduced: Along with her musicianship, Castricum is a noted LGBTQI+ activist, and (under her previous name) penned an essay for Vice last year on the topics of 'passing', trans visibility and the impact of high-profile trans individuals such as Caitlyn Jenner and Laverne Cox. She is also the creator of queer pop label Girls Who Smoke Poke, and runs gender-diverse club The Shock Of The New. Her previous works include 2013 debut Trouble In Utopia and 2014 follow-up Exotic Ladies Of Birobidzhan.
#TriggerWarning40 is available digitally on Apple Music, Google Play, Spotify and other streaming platforms, as well as available on 12" vinyl and in digital format via Bandcamp.
