Kylie MinogueKylie Minogue is commemorating her incredible four-decades-plus career in entertainment in an upcoming Netflix documentary series, but that might not be all. In fact, she has more plans up her sleeve.
In a new interview with The Sunday Times’ Style magazine, the Padam Padam hitmaker was asked if she had plans to celebrate her 40th anniversary in music with a tour.
“I’m probably not meant to say this, but yes, I am,” Minogue admitted. 2027 marks her 40th year in music. In 1987, she launched her singing career with a cover of The Loco-Motion while she was still a main draw of the long-running Australian soap, Neighbours.
With seventeen albums under her belt, many global tours, awards, and hit singles, there’s an epic legacy to celebrate.
Her comment about celebrating 40 years in music arrives just days before the three-part intimate documentary about the singer, KYLIE, drops on Netflix. Fans can tune in to the documentary series on Wednesday, 20 May.

Discussing the series with The Times, Minogue shared that she felt “a knot of excitement and nerves” about its premiere this week. “There was so much to get through. How the hell do you tell the story?” she said.
“I’ve been asked by so many people to do a documentary in the past, but I’ve never done anything like this before.”
She continued, “I haven’t seen it too many times. I’m looking forward to it being out there. It’s like releasing a song; you can’t make any more changes once it’s out there.
“Will I live differently? Will people relate to me differently? Some people will never have heard of me.”
The Netflix series will explore how Kylie has “defied the odds” and enjoyed a five-decade career in entertainment through the lens of an intimate, three-part documentary.
The series will, of course, visit her breakthrough role as Charlene in Neighbours before becoming a chart-topping musical success with a penchant for reinvention. As well as examining her successes and career milestones, the documentary will also dig into how Kylie became one of music’s most enduring artists, influencing generations of pop stars.
Emmy and BAFTA Award-winning director Michael Harte (Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie, BECKHAM) has directed the documentary series. It’s also produced by John Battsek’s Ventureland, the team behind WHAM! and other documentaries.
In addition to interviews with Kylie and Dannii Minogue, the documentary will feature conversations with Nick Cave, Jason Donovan and Pete Waterman.
