Foo Fighters will make their way to Launceston for a one-off gig this weekend—their first show in Tasmania in over a decade, and their debut concert in Launceston. Ahead of the big day, Foo Fighters and Frontier Touring have shared a guide of everything punters need to know.

“TASMANIA!!! KNOW BEFORE YOU GO,” Foo Fighters wrote, sharing the tour promoters’ post on social media today (22 January). “SEE YOU SOON…”

The band’s show at UTAS Stadium in Launceston this Saturday (24 January) is all-ages, and all punters require a ticket regardless of age. Tickets to the one-off show are sold out.

Tickets are available digitally via mobile. Patrons are advised to arrive early, as doors open at 5 pm and the show begins at 6:20 pm, with Foo Fighters joined by special guests Full Flower Moon Band and Spooky Eyes.

As the venue doesn’t have cloakroom facilities, punters are encouraged to carry essential items with them, such as a fully-charged phone and a power bank, sunscreen and hats, ID, cards, earplugs, and a clear empty plastic bottle – with the note that said bottles aren’t permitted in the GA area.

However, attendees can’t have a bag larger than A4 at the venue. Professional cameras and video cameras are also prohibited, as well as cushions, chairs, umbrellas, flags and banners with handles, alcohol, cans, glass, or crockery.

UTAS Stadium is a cashless stadium, and that also goes for merchandise, food, and beverages. Early merchandise will be available from tomorrow, 12 pm to 6 pm, outside Gate 11. On show day, fans can purchase shirts, hoodies, and more at Gate 11, and inside the venue at Gate 15 and near Gate 2.

Attendees should also be advised that a section of Invermay Road will be closed on the day due to the high traffic expected in the area. Punters are instead encouraged to use taxi ranks nearby, and if driving in, to park in the CBD and walk over. There will also be bus pick-up and drop-off zones for punters travelling across the state.

You can see the graphics about the show below.

The upcoming show marks the Foo Fighters’ 14th visit to Australia, following their last visit in November/December 2023. That visit followed the 2022 show and a 2018 headline tour.

In March 2022, Foo Fighters played a one-off show at Geelong’s GMHBA Stadium, becoming the first international band to perform in a stadium in Australia after the borders opened, following strict measures undertaken to control the COVID-19 pandemic.
