Kisschasy said the surprise release has resulted in a "strange, kinda tingly feeling."

Kisschasy are back. Today, the beloved Australian band released their first song in 16 years, Lie To Me, and it’s a banger (no lie).
Lie To Me finds the band adding a modern twist to their trademark sound – the loud guitars, drums, and razor-sharp lyrics are still in place, with an irresistible hook pulling listeners in. The song lasts under two minutes and 50 seconds, demanding to be replayed.
The group announced the new track earlier this month. It arrives a week before their one-off headline show at Singing Bird Studios in Frankston next Friday (30 May) and a few weeks before their Hymns For The Nonbeliever anniversary tour. The album is celebrating its 18th birthday and its first-ever vinyl release.
“Lie To Me is finally out in the world. It’s a strange, kinda tingly feeling,” Kisschasy wrote on Instagram today. “Hopefully you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it - we did it for you and we did it for us. Listen loud and then listen again. We’d love to hear what you think.”
You can check out Lie To Me below (and on The Music’s Spotify and Apple Music playlists).
Lie To Me was written by all four of the band’s members – lead vocalist Darren Cordeux, guitarist Sean Thomas, bassist Joel Vanderuit, and drummer Karl Ammitzboll. Cordeux produced the track, which was recorded by Richard Stolz at Woodstock Studios in Melbourne.

Kisschasy detailed the Hymns For The Nonbeliever tour in January. The record is home to their top ten-placing singles, Opinions Won't Keep You Warm At Night and Spray On Pants – both of which charted in the 2007 Hottest 100.
The tour comes after the band’s 2023 reunion tour, where they celebrated the vinyl release of their 2005 debut album, United Paper People. Kisschasy said of their impending tour:
Our last tour proved that the special connection we have with our fans is alive and stronger than ever. We’ve been counting down the minutes until we can get back onto the stage and there’s no better reason than having our second album Hymns For The Nonbeliever released on vinyl for the very first time.
As a band we are tighter and more focused than we’ve ever been, and these shows will be proof of that. There may even be some surprises.
New music certainly is a surprise.
