"We can’t wait to get back on stage and play in front of a massive, standing festival crowd, with people enjoying themselves like we used to."
Brand new Australian music event Inverted Festival will go ahead without zoned areas this May, making it the "largest standing music festival to take place in Australia" since the COVID pandemic began last year.
10,000 people are expected to attend Metricon Stadium on the Gold Coast for the festival, with event organisers confirming that the decision to remove zones was made after consultation between QLD Health Department and Metricon Stadium.
The debut festival will feature an all-Aussie line-up including Skegss, Spiderbait, The Chats, WAAX, Stand Atlantic and Trophy Eyes.
“There’s only six weeks until Inverted Festival and we can’t wait to get back on stage and play in front of a massive, standing festival crowd, with people enjoying themselves like we used to," Trophy Eyes said.
"With the removal of zones, fans can move freely between stages and enjoy everything the event has to offer.”

Inverted Festival isn't the only one with good news today too with new regional touring festival Fresh Produce announcing that four of its events - Townsville, Toowoomba, Glenorchy and Bendigo - will also go ahead without zoned areas.
"We are thrilled that we’re able to open up four of our festivals and offer zone-free good times," said promoter Steve Halpin.
"We are working closely with the relevant health authorities in our remaining regions with the aim to also move to open sites. Fresh Produce is a new and ever-evolving event and as restrictions continue to ease across the country, we will be able to offer even more to our patrons."
