Flume & Chet Faker have continued their dominance of the AIR's singles/EP charts for independent labels with independent distribution chart with Drop The Game (Future Classic/Independent). We do have a new number two this week - X-Factor alum JTR scored that position with their track Ride (Independent/MGM).
Melbourne singer-songwriter John Trager scored the only other debut single/EP this week with Let Your Angel Fly (Independent).
The Jezabels have dethroned Chet Faker in the albums released on independent labels through independent distribution chart this week. The Brink (Independent/MGM) debuted at one, pushing Faker's Thinking In Textures (Opulent/Inertia) down to four.
Michael Paynter's Weary Stars (Independent) pushed back into the top 20, at an impressive two this week, while Horrorshow's King Amongst Many (Elefant Traks/Inertia) maintained it's stay around the top - charting at three.
More on Sydney indie favourites The Jezabels - they've just missed out on the number one ARIA album this week. Their second full-length The Brink was pipped by US duo MKTO and their self-titled debut. The quartet have also announced a headline tour to coincide with their Groovin The Moo slot.
Melbourne duo Georgia Fair have a new single out. We Are Not Alive is a catchy, guitar and melody driven number, off their new album Trapped Flame. Check it out.
Sydney punk trio Bloods have dropped the video for their latest single Language. The track is off their 2013 Golden Fang EP. Watch it now.
Sydney singer-songwriter Caitlin Park has signed a label deal with Create/Control. The nu-folk artist will unveil her second album in 2014. More.
Melbourne band Flyying Colours have penned deals with two overseas labels. The outfit have signed with Club ac30 for the UK and Europe, plus Shelflife for the US.
Local indie label Hub The Label has announced a partnership with Canadian independent imprint Dine Alone. The deal will see Hub titles released in North America. Details.
Sydney instrumental rockers sleepmakeswaves will headline Belgium's Dunk Festival this April. The band are also performing at London event Beyond The Redshift Festival, which takes place in May.
