The Central Coast is home to the impressive Girrakool Blues Festival, which makes its return with a star-studded line-up over three days this year.

The free three-day festival will be held from Friday, 28 February, to Sunday, 2 March, at Memorial Park, The Entrance, Central Coast NSW. Although curated for families, Girrakool Blues promises something for everyone.

Headlined by Aussie icons Ross Wilson & The Peaceniks, this year’s festival boasts a bill of local and international stars, including UK blues harp maestro Steve Weston, and beloved Australian acts Bondi Cigars, Hussy Hicks, Clayton Doley’s Bayou Billabong, and Dom Turner & The Rural Blues Project among others. You can check out the complete line-up below and RSVP for your attendance here.

“The Girrakool Blues is all about bringing people together to celebrate great music and community,” Bruce Johnson, Girrakool Blues Festival Director, commented in a statement. “This year, we’re thrilled to feature an incredible mix of international and homegrown talent while keeping the festival accessible for everyone.”

In addition to hosting a music festival, Girrakool Blues hosts interactive events, such as Guitar Friday, which features intimate performances by Bondi Cigars and the Steve Edmonds Band; Music All Day Saturday; and Family Fun Day Sunday, which promises live music, activities, food truck stations, and more.

Upon announcing that Girrakool Blues would return for its seventh edition last July, Johnson revealed his hopes to see a 10,000-strong attendance at this year’s festival after the 2024 event drew over 7,000 punters.

This year’s festival is free after being announced as one of 66 recipients of the NSW Government’s 2024/25 Regional Event Fund. Girrakool Blues also attracted funding from Destination NSW, as 60% of concertgoers travel outside the Central Coast to attend.

The NSW Minister for Jobs and Tourism, John Graham, said of the festival being a recipient of the 2024/25 Regional Event Fund: “We want to help these events reach the heights of the Deni Ute Muster or the Parkes Elvis Festival, both now highlights of the NSW calendar.

“These events reflect the personalities of their communities and draw visitors from all over the country.”
