AC/DC are coming home this November and December, touring Australia for the first time in a decade.

For the highly anticipated tour dates—in which they broke Ticketek’s single-day concert on-sale record—they’ll be joined by special guests Amyl And The Sniffers.

However, it has now been confirmed that more local acts will be featured in each city on the tour. From roaring rock and roll to indie rock and grunge, get to know the local support acts who will open for AC/DC on their upcoming stadium tour of Australia.

Melbourne – The Casanovas

Australian hard rock band The Casanovas formed in Melbourne in 1999 by Patrick Boyce on drums, his brother Tommy on lead vocals and guitar, and Jimmy Lewis on bass guitar. At the time of publication, its band members include Tommy Boyce (vocals, guitar), Damian DamoCampbell (vocals, bass), and Brett WolfieWolfenden (drums).

The Casanovas will warm up the crowd across two nights at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), bringing their high-energy rock sound and tracks from across five albums.

Sydney – Large Mirage

Retro rockers Large Mirage will open two shows at Sydney’s Accor Stadium. Channelling the spirit of bands from the late ‘60s and early ‘70s, the band are known for their exhilarating performances.

With harmonies reminiscent of Jefferson Airplane or Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, the band pull from classic rock influences while bringing a modern edge. You’ve probably heard their music on ABC and Triple M and seen them share stages with The Screaming Jets, Diesel, and members of Powderfinger, Jet, and Spiderbait.

Adelaide – Oscar The Wild

South Australian queer indie rock band Oscar The Wild will warm up proceedings at AC/DC’s headline slot at the bp Adelaide Grand Final. The indie punk band have made waves across the country, having received plays on triple j and opening slots for Slowly Slowly and Suzi, among others.

The Music caught Oscar The Wild at BIGSOUND’s Made In SA showcase last September, noting: “They have a jaunty pump to their sound, a punk spirit buoyed by a cute, quiet quirkiness that is reminiscent of Kimya Dawson of The Moldy Peaches.”

Perth – The Southern River Band

Thornlie rock and rollers The Southern River Band have come a long way since their formation in 2013, and this December, they’ll open for AC/DC for two nights at Perth’s Optus Stadium.

Last week, the band dropped their new album, Easier Said Than Done, which contains the singles All Over Town, No Such Time, F**k You, Pay Me, and One Of These Nights (I’ll Be Gone). Singer Cal Kramer said of the band’s goals, “I believe in this band above all else and everybody in it. It is a real brotherhood, and we’re not chasing fame or anything like that; we are just chasing being the best band that we can be and having the best time that we can have doing it.”

Brisbane – HEADSEND

Byron Bay rockers HEADSEND are coming up fast, having recently scored opening slots for UK buzz band Wunderhorse and prog-metal icons Tool. With chugging guitars and buried vocals, they offer rock music reminiscent of Nirvana and Silverchair.

The high-energy group consistently deliver raw, nostalgic tracks infused with a modern edge, with their song STOVE showing off what’s to come. Check them out across two nights at Suncorp Stadium.

A new release of tickets to AC/DC’s 2025 Australian tour is available now via Ticketek (for all shows excluding Adelaide) and Ticketmaster (Adelaide only).
