Empire Of The Sun Announce 2027 Australian Tour

Empire Of The Sun come home in February and March 2027, following their last tour in late 2024.

Visionary Australian pop and dance music icons Empire Of The Sun are coming home in February and March 2027, today announcing a huge headline tour.

The six-date run marks the band’s largest tour of the region to date. The tour begins with a night in New Zealand at Auckland’s Spark Arena on Friday, 19 February. Following their New Zealand date, the band head to Australia.

The Australian run kicks off at Brisbane’s Riverstage on Sunday, 21 February. It continues at Sydney’s Afterpay Arena on Thursday, 25 February, Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Saturday, 27 February, the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Tuesday, 2 March, and concludes at Perth’s RAC Arena on Saturday, 6 March.

Australian audiences last saw Empire Of The Sun in 2024, during their Ask That God tour. Now, fans have been invited to step into the next chapter of the band’s live performances with the Ask That God: Afterlife Tour.

The Ask That God: Afterlife run marks the group’s final live instalment of the Ask That God journey, expanding the universe established on their most recent album.

“Ask That God: Afterlife feels like a tour of unknowns and possibilities — new visions, new plateaus, fragile breakthroughs,” Empire Of The Sun’s Luke Steele commented in a statement.

He added, “I think things are going to happen on this tour that have never happened before. We can’t wait to take this music and this tour to new frontiers. Let’s break barriers together.”

Since the Ask That God tour began in 2024, Empire Of The Sun have sold more than 400,000 tickets worldwide. Their upcoming return to Australia showcases their next chapter, with reimagined production spotlighting the scale, colour, and theatricality that’s defined the band’s live performances.

Ask That God was released in July 2024. It contains the singles Changes, Music on the Radio, and Cherry Blossom, as well as their 2023 collaboration with PNAU, AEIOU.
