George Alice has been making waves in the Australian music scene for a sparkling handful of years now.

In 2019, the pop princess released her debut single Circles, which went on to win the coveted triple j’s Unearthed High competition. In 2022, she dropped her celebrated EP Growing Pains and has since performed at Laneway Festival and the Australian Open, as well as supporting such major industry names as Broods, Yung Blue, and Tash Sultana.

And now, the singer-songwriter has released her first offering since a run of 2023 singles.

Her new single, SOS, came out four days ago, along with a special music video.

The song is described evocatively as “exploring the tension between party girl excess and loneliness” and “drawing a portrait of a chaotic lifestyle where moments of euphoria and escapism crash into feelings of heartbreak and nostalgia.”

George Alice says of the song, “It’s all about letting things go, reconnecting friendships on the dance floor and all the late nights spent going bonkers with my girls. Sometimes it’s just not that serious.. that’s SOS.”

The music video, which sees the rising pop star captured amidst a raw desert backdrop, was filmed over three sweltering days in Coober Pedy.

To celebrate the release, George Alice has announced a special one-off hometown show.

The show will take place in Adelaide on Saturday, June 28th, at the historic Crown and Anchor. Given that the beloved pub will be closing its doors for two years from mid-July, it will be the perfect opportunity to have a wild schooner-infused boogie before that hallowed stage.

Supports for the show have yet to be officially announced, but “special guests” and “beauty and chaos” have been promised.

Tickets are limited, so scoop them up while you can here.
